It’s late afternoon in Los Angeles, and the sun’s beginning to fade as Teresa Palmer drives home after a long day of meetings, telling us how much she’s looking forward to the evening. She might go out with some friends. “Or,” she muses, “we might stay home, eat some sushi and watch TV.”

Palmer deserves a bit of relaxation. Since scoring her first film lead at 18, she’s been all but knee-deep in work — the 26-year-old appears in three films over the next 12 months alone. It seems nothing can stop her right now. Well, until this happens.

In a blur of sirens, flashing lights and no small amount of confusion, it turns out it’s not just Hollywood whose attention she’s captured. “Sorry — the police are pulling me over,” she gasps.

And then she’s gone.

Thankfully, Palmer’s Lohan Moment is a bit of a disappointment as far as lurid headlines are concerned. (And before you ask, we weren’t to blame — she was on her hands-free.) It’s just a routine stop and, with licence and registration all in order, she’s soon on her way. “Oh my god, the dramas!” Palmer says, having called us back. “I wasn’t doing anything wrong. They just decided to stop me. And he was totally flirting with me!”
